Animals feed on other living things. Herbivores eat plants. Carnivores eat other animals. Omnivores eat both plants and other animals. Plants make their own food from water, mineral salts and carbon dioxide. They use energy from sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis. What are the life processes? All living things carry out three life processes: nutrition, sensitivity and reproduction. Nutrition Nutrition is the process through which living things get raw materials and energy from food. Living things need raw materials to grow and repair their bodies. Living things need energy to carry out activities such as movement and reproduction.
