◾ AULA VIRTUAL ◾ USER’S GUIDE ◾ SANTILLANA ◾ 2 Aula Virtual 4 Santillana is proud to present Aula Virtual 4, an educational platform that provides teachers and students with everything they need to create a digital teaching and learning environment. •  Aula Virtual 4 is designed to be accessed from various devices, computers and tablets, with or without an internet connection, and it is possible to work on its content in a synchronised way in the classroom or from home. •  You’ll be able to communicate with your students and organise work quickly and easily. •  You’ll have access to all the materials for teachers and students that accompany our projects all on the same platform: teaching guides, answer keys, assessment suggestions, etc. •  You’ll be able to monitor the progress of your students while they work with Santillana books. •  Aula Virtual 4 adapts to you and your students. There’s a version for teachers, with access to exclusive content and work areas, and a specific one for students.

◾ AULA VIRTUAL ◾ USER’S GUIDE ◾ SANTILLANA ◾ 3 You can access Aula Virtual 4 in various ways depending on whether you’re going to use the website by connecting to the internet or the app to download its contents onto your device. •  ONLINE: navigate with your browser to https://av.santillana.es. •  OFFLINE: download the Aula Virtual 4 app from https://digital.santillana.es or the Android and IOs stores. You’ll be able to log in to Aula Virtual using your credentials if you’ve already created a user account or, if you have an username for e-vocación (exclusive community of teachers who use Santillana materials), you’ll be able to access with your data. If you’re accessing Aula Virtual for the first time, it will be necessary to create a user account. You’ll need to go through the four steps of the process: Access to Aula Virtual 4 Start of session Setting up an account 2. Forename and surname(s) 3. Username and password 4. Email address 1. Licence and password You’ll be supplied with the licence and its password by your sales rep and the books you have requested will be associated. You’ll need to include an email address to associate it with your account. You’ll need to remember your username / alias to log on to AV4 in future. You’ll be able to change your password, if you wish, once the account creation process has been finished, in the My profile section. Include your forename and one or two surnames. If you’ve forgotten your password, you’ll be able to create a new one using the recovery email that you’ll receive in your inbox. How do I restore my password?

My books Applications Agenda Attendance Scores My classes Messages Resources Control panel Interactive tutorial Control panel The control panel is designed as a home screen where you’ll have access to the most important information of your day-to-day teaching life at your fingertips. You’ll have direct access to the tasks in progress created for your classes, the daily agenda with the events scheduled for today’s date and forthcoming events, as well as your students’ comments about the current tasks.

You’ll be able to view the books, read the content and personalise it, and you’ll have access to tools enabling you to make notes, underline and add bookmarks, among others. Applications In the Applications section you’ll be able to discover digital solutions to help you and complement your day-to-day life in the classroom. One of these is Bingel, a platform for doing exercises where you can challenge your students in a gamified and adaptive setting. How can I add more books? By clicking the “New licence” button you’ll be able to enter the new credentials provided by your sales rep to add other books to your Aula Virtual 4 library. Using the button you’ll be able to access the book or create a personalised version. How do I view my books?

◾ AULA VIRTUAL ◾ USER’S GUIDE ◾ SANTILLANA ◾ 6 My classes In this section you’ll be able to view your various classes, manage their members, access the task creation setting and directly view the book associated with each respective subject. Create a new class or join one already created by another teacher. Weightings Timetable of the subject Edit class View book associated with the class Direct access to the Tasks section Administer class members Associate book You’ll need to select one of the books available in your library to associate it with your class. Establish the weightings for each type of task. Remember that the sum of them all should be 100. You can set the timetable of the class you’re creating. You can edit the details of the class as well as activate or deactivate the group. How do I create a class? By clicking the New class button you’ll be able to enter the data needed for the creation of your class. Once the new class has been created, you’ll be able to access its main sections directly.

You can request the code of the class you want to join and include it by clicking the Join an existing class button. The teacher who administers the class will need to accept your request. How can I manage the members of a class? Members Tasks In the Members section you’ll be able to see the students and teachers who form part of the group. Using the switch you’ll be able to activate or deactivate members who have requested to join the class. In the Tasks section you’ll be able to set assignments for your students and mark them, share files, manage their attendance and carry out comprehensive and personalised monitoring of their progress, among other things. You’ll see overall data for the class and each student relating to the assigned tasks. You’ll have personalised monitoring of each student’s progress in the class book. Summary Monitoring

Accessing each of the created tasks, you’ll be able to see the number of students who have done them and correct their answers. The tasks in Aula Virtual 4 are organised in themes assigned to a period of the school year. Once a theme has been created, you’ll be able to create tasks associated with it. New theme New task How do I edit the tasks that have been created? Use the tabs to include the properties of the task and its recipients (e. g.: Climates of the world). You can edit the details of the task using the button . Click on “New theme” to create the first group of tasks (e. g. The climate). Correct task Details of the task Publish scores Mark your students’ answers; you’ll be able to leave comments and return the task if necessary. Once the tasks have been corrected you can publish the scores so your students can see them in their accounts.

Messages This section will enable you to send messages individually, to a group or the whole class, and you’ll also be able to attach photos* and links. You can add calendars to your agenda to share events with your students. If you’re a member of other classes, those corresponding to such groups will appear in the “School events” calendar. This option enables you to schedule events and associate them with one of the calendars. If no calendars have been created, the event is assigned to the “Own events” calendar, which is for private use. If you need to share events with your students, you’ll need to add a new calendar (e.g.: Class 1 A). How can I add calendars? How can I include a new event? Try creating and sending messages. You’ll be able to manage them in your inbox. * You’ll be able to attach image files (.jpg / .png), video (.avi / .mp4 / .mpg) and documents (.pdf), as well as Microsoft Office files (.docx, .xlsx and.pptx) with a size limit of 500 MB per file. If you have more than one class group, you’ll be able to choose which of them you want to control. Resources This section enables you to organise files* in folders and share them with your classes. If you wish, you can export the attendance record of the week you’re viewing, in pdf format. Use the drop-down lists to choose the class and the registration period. You’ll see the list of students, where you’ll be able to include the notification. How can I export the attendance record? How can I add absences/late attendances? You can upload various types of file* to complement your classes and organise them in folders that will only be visible to you. If you want to share them with your students, you’ll need to include them in the shared class folder. How can I include resources and organise them? For every class you have, a shared folder is created automatically. All files you include in this will be visible to all its members. How can I share resources? *You’ll be able to include image files (.jpg / .png), video (.avi / .mp4 / .mpg) and documents (.pdf), as well as Microsoft Office files (.docx, .xlsx and .pptx) with a size limit of 500 MB per file

In the event that you have more than one class, you’ll need to select which class you want to check. Interactive tutorial Aula Virtual 4 has an interactive tutorial to guide you through the various sections, providing a series of instructions that will help you and familiarise you with the platform . You can export the report card for the school year for each class. When you publish the scores, they’ll be automatically visible to your students. Export and publish scores The tutorial starts automatically the first time you access Aula Virtual 4. You can also activate it at any time by using the button for guiding you in the section you’re viewing. You’ll be able to skip the tutorial or run through the specific steps of each section.
